Favorite starting hands

Everyone has one hand that they love. It doesn’t have to be logical. For instance, I love Qs. I seem to do well with Qs or a Q… Q9 is a special favorite as one day at a local casino with my friend (and fellow writer here at pokerpenguin.net) Mike and my girlfriend at the table… we saw one dealer deal out Q9 several times in one session to each of us, which we each proceeded to win with.

Since then, I’ve noticed that even online I do well with Queens. I don’t know if it’s just that I play Queens better or what… but I love Q9 and pocket Qs.

So what hand do you love? Give us your tip. ;)

Better yet, what hand do you hate?

My favorite starting hand is probably 68. I get to win by surprise with this hand, and I usually make a raise when I enter the pot with it. It’s easy to lay down but can wreak havoc if you hit.

As for the commenting on my blog…. unfortunately there is no way of changing that page to display in english and I realize that people might have a problem with that so I’ll write a post about it… But, in order to successfully comment there you have to tick the “Anonimac” where it says “Zelim komentirati kao:” …. Hope it helps…

Ace - 8. Something so nice about saying “Aces and Eights” when you hit the two pair (which seems to happen just enough). Its not a premium hand… just on the “fold” side of a starting hands chart… but I always play it to the max. if it doesn’t hit, it still mixes things up and forces me to get some bluffing practice.
