Value Betting

value-betting

Nothing deceptive about a value bet. You had two good cards before the flop and now the flop has helped in some way, giving you a hand which you think is best, such as top pair. Now you want to get maximum value out of your winning hand.

Unless you flopped a monster, you generally don’t want to slowplay. Just lead out betting and hope that someone with a second best hand comes along. Generally between half the pot and the whole pot. Betting more might win you more money, but you want to blend your bets in here with your continuation bets and probe bets and disguise the strength of your hand while still getting money.
