Well, lately I’ve been getting bored (and doomswitched*) of NLH, so I’ve decide to try an learn some new games. Full Tilt had a $1 Razz tournament tonight and after reading the basics online, the section of Play Like a Pro that covers Razz and a couple of games of play money Razz… I felt qualified enough to play in the same tournament that Huck Seed is in.
I busted out in 154 place out 368 total…. mostly due to a great starting hand that ended up flopping trip 4s! No kidding! Trip 4s! I folded, but after wasting a lot of chips with raises… cause did I mention that I had a great starting hand and after the two other hands went to showdown, I definitely had the best hand, EVEN with the pair of 4s… but not trips.
Ouch.
I guess I need to get some more books.
*BTW, I played NLH for about 3 hours today and it was PAINFUL… I had KK busted by an AK that flops freaking a STRAIGHT! And whenever I had a good hand like AA, I’d put in a preflop raise and everyone would fold. Painful… just freaking painful.

Razz is a lot of fun. Especially when low limit players think it’s like seven-stud and raise with a high hand lol.
I like to mix in H.O.R.S.E. sit n gos when I start feeling that boredom from straight Hold’em.
It mixes Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Seven-Stud, and Seven Stud Hi/Lo. Lots of strategy involved and NEVER boring.
Good luck with the Razz studies!
