Posting from my favorite bar tonight (I also DJ here)… drowning my sorrows after I played Bodog’s 5k tournament and did fairly well except for a series of bad beats that left me reeling on a short stack with $300/$150 blinds… forcing me to play an all-in or nothing game… knowing that any significant raise would commit me to any pot.j
I ended up finishing 116 out of 500 (Last time I finished 65 out of 410… 20 shy of the money). Respectable, but not in the money… far from the money actually.
I feel good about my play though. I got my money in the middle with the best of it, sometimes as high as 80% to win… but like I said, bad beats and suck outs eventually left me very chips in which to do any serious maneuvering.
So, should I be mournful of my loss or happy about the way I played? I’m opting for happy about the way I played… although making the money would be nice… I have a feeling I’m not far from a good cashing in a decent size tournament.
