Baseball has the World Series. Football (American) has the Superbowl. Football (rest of the world) has the World Cup. Poker has the World Series of Poker.
It’s getting ready to be that time again. Yesterday, the WSOP released the schedule for 2008 and started taking pre-registrations. 55 events in all and will run from May 30th to July 16th at the Rio Casino.
According to WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel,
“We’ve received only positive comments about the 2008 schedule, which offers WSOP bracelets in eight variations of poker and at multiple buy-in levels. Because no alternates will be seated at the 2008 WSOP, we encourage players to pre-register early to guarantee their seats. Once again, acceptable forms of payment will include cash, cashier’s checks, wire transfers and Rio casino chips.”
Course, unless a miracle happens, I will probably be watching over the web or via ESPN2.
I am playing the Bodog cheap seat tournaments. This year Bodog is sending over a 100 players to the WSOP. Pretty sweet.
