Just what the hell is Poker Penguin?

Basically, we’re Texas Hold’em poker buffs who love to talk poker in an effort to improve our game. We are NOT experts. Let me repeat, cause it’s very important, WE ARE NOT EXPERTS nor do we pretend to be. We are all fairly new to the game and hence, we make a LOT of mistakes. What we try to do here is learn from our mistakes and pass that information on to others.

We all play some form of Texas Hold’em, either in a home game (most of the authors on this site, at this time, participate in a tournament home game), play poker online, play in a casino or all three. We just love the game.

What is Poker Penguin for?

Didn’t I answer that? We’re trying to become better players. A lot of the time, you only get better upon reflection of a hand or a game. That’s what we do here. We reflect. If other people can learn from that, so much the better. We’re not trying to be right 100% of the time. We’re trying to be better than the last time. We think that should be the goal of all poker players, amateurs and pros.

Anything else?

Yes. We’re just starting up. So, we’re looking for writers who love playing and writing about poker. Of course, the most important thing of all is to have fun. So, we hope you enjoy our site and we hope to see you participate in the comments and forums.
